Barbara Dwyer Gunn

Barbara Dwyer Gunn is President and CEO of Seedco, a national nonprofit organization that advances economic opportunity for people, businesses, and communities in need. A longtime nonprofit and government leader in New York City, Gunn’s career has focused on innovative program development, fundraising, operational management, and budget and financial oversight. She comes to Seedco from the American Museum of Natural History in New York, where she served first as the Chief Financial Officer and later as the Senior Vice President for Operations and Government Relations.
Gunn’s career has been dedicated to defining and achieving strategic goals in complex, mission-driven organizations, from her earlier work in New York City government for Mayor Edward Koch — where among other positions she led the Mayor’s Office of Operations — to her previous posts at the American Museum of Natural History, and now at Seedco. She has focused on evaluating and strengthening program impacts, and leading change where required.
She received her B.A. in English literature from the College of St. Rose in Albany and her M.A. in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
